In Memoriam

Dennis Huffstickler

A Lancer out of sight
Never out of mind

It is with great regret that we must inform
all of R.E. Lee High School alumni and the class of 1967 of the death of Dennis Leroy Huffstickler (1967), 55, of Stafford County .  Dennis died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004 , at Mary Washington Hospital .

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carolyn (Hartnett 1968) Huffstickler; a daughter, Beth Brooks and her husband, Jason, of Columbia, Md.; three sons, Andy Huffstickler and his wife, Carissa, of White Oak, Jackie Huffstickler and his wife, Kim, of King George County and Sammy Huffstickler of the home; his parents, Frances Elizabeth and Leroy James Huffstickler of Rixeyville; four brothers, David, Bruce, Joseph and James Huffstickler, all of Woodbridge; and six grandchildren, Wesley, Ashley, Ross, Maggie, Mason and Megan.

Denny was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He had a long and consuming interest in all things outdoors. A talented ballplayer, avid hunter and fisherman, he left his family with a legacy of knowledge and shared memories. This was a man who filled up a room and was seldom forgotten by anyone who met him. He will leave a huge void in the hearts of many.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at Found & Sons Funeral Chapels, Fredericksburg . A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, at the funeral home, with Pastor Jason Brooks officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Quantico National Cemetery .
