this weekend to celebrate the 40th anniversary of our graduation from Lee.
We suggest that Reunion Attire be Casual yet Warm – October Evenings can be
a Bit Chilly.
FRIDAY … October 14
6:30 pm – Tailgate
Party
in Lee parking lot; sponsored by the Lee Athletic Boosters Association.
7:30
pm – Homecoming Football Game;
tickets: $5.
Look for the
Lee 1971 Banner to
sit together.

– 11 pm – Reception at Houlihan’s Garden Room,
Springfield Hilton.
LAFA – Lee Alumni & Friends Association – hosts this
event in cooperation with our class and the class of
1981.
You
will find Light Refreshments and a Cash Bar at this event.
SATURDAY
… October 15
1 pm – Robert E. Lee HS – Main Lobby:
Gift of Art from
the Class of 1971.
Your Reunion Committee commissioned our fellow
classmate Connie Perdue (Logan) to make a modern
portrait
of Robert E. Lee that we would present to our alma mater.
It is appropriate to present this gift 150 years
after Lee became the principal general in the Confederate Army.
School Principal Abe Jeffers and LAFA officers
will be present for the unveiling.
1:15 pm – 3 pm – Current students will conduct TOURS of the renovated R.E.
Lee HS.
Tours
take about 20 minutes.
These FREE tours are open to all Lee alumni &
guests.
4:30 pm – Meet in
Springfield Hilton Lobby –
Here we will coordinate carpooling & parking.
We
then drive to Alexandria.
Once in Old Town, we go to Founders’ Park (intersection
of Queen
& North Union Streets).
Our yacht
“Celebrity”
will be at a pier within the park.
Look
for some blue & gold helium balloons flying by the correct dock.
5:45 pm – Begin
Boarding the yacht “Celebrity.”
6 – 9 pm – Sunset
Cruise on the Potomac River.
Enjoy:
Appetizer Medley, Cash Bar ($2- $9), Music from our High School Days (will
play on the sound system in the background), Prizes.

pm – ? – After the Cruise –
Some may choose to roam the stores and pubs of
Alexandria’s Old Town.
Others may need to return to the Hilton and
their cars, etc.
The Reunion Committee will organize a “shuttle
service” from Old Town to the Springfield Hilton.
SUNDAY
… October 16
10:30 am – 1 pm – Brunch at
Houlihan’s Restaurant
(Springfield Hilton); $19.95.
