A Lancer out of sight
Never out of mind

We are sorry to inform the Lee community and the class of 1966 that
Bill Maas died on January 10, 2014.

Herbert William "Bill" Maas III, age 66, of Mangum OK, passed away at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus OK. Mr. Maas was born in Vernon TX on October 23, 1947, to Herbert William Maas II and Billie Gene Smith.

Moving to Springfield VA at an early age, Bill graduated high school in Springfield and then attended the Oklahoma Military Academy in Claremore OK. Bill later attended Oklahoma State University where he was a member of the FIJI Fraternity. His first job was traveling up and down the East Coast, playing with a band. Bill was a talented musician who could play any stringed instrument, especially the guitar and banjo. Later, Bill began working for Hewlett-Packard Computer Company in Lincoln CA, spending 19 years before moving to Mangum to be closer to his mother. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed listening to and playing music and working with computers.

Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his aunts Hoppy Hervey and husband Bill of Greensboro NC, and Fran Scearce and husband Bob of Portland OR; several cousins; and many other relatives and friends.
