Coach Estil Brown

A Lancer out of sight
Never out of mind


We regret to inform all of the Alumni that Teacher and Coach Estil Herbert Brown passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 in Culpeper Health and Rehabilition Center.

Mr. Brown was born in Stevensburg, VA to Herbert Clinton Brown and Nellie Elizabeth Hicks Brown, December 18, 1931; served his country in the U.S. Army in the Korean War; retired as a teacher from the Fairfax County Public School System; was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church; and was a Redskins fan, holding season seats for a long time.

Surviving Mr. Brown is his wife, Marjorie Aylor Brown; his daughters, Sharon B. Spengler and her husband Frank and Deborah E. Holt and her husband Robert; his brother, Danny Crane; his grandchildren, Dagny, Alex, Robin, Anna, Genova and a great-granddaughter, Penelo.

Funeral services were held in Hopewell United Methodist Church, Lignum, VA Friday, June 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Evans.

Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Clark Taylor, Tommy Aylor, Mathew Taylor, David Huffman, Chipper Crane, and Tommy Allen Crane with Jim Weaver and Ralph Hancock as honorary pallbearers.
