Tribute
William “Bill” E. Jackson, Jr., 86,
passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020.
Mr. Jackson was born in Shipman, Va. to
William E. Jackson, Sr. and Bertha
Stevens. He attended the University of
Virginia (UVA) on a baseball
scholarship. He served in the United
States Air Force and then began his
career as a history teacher in Fairfax
County; eventually becoming the
Principal at Lee High School, Chantilly
High School and Robinson Secondary.
After retiring, he continued his support
of education through his scholarship
work with the Northern Virginia Athletic
Directors, Administrators, and Coaches
Association.
Bill served on the Board of Education at
UVA and was a lifelong Wahoo fan
attending UVA football games and making
sure his family always had UVA shirts to
wear. He was proud of his granddaughters
for pursuing higher education and was
honored to wear the college baseball
caps they gave him. He was happy with
the simple things in life and was always
happy to have an ice cream cone in his
hand.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa;
sons Allen (Michelle) and David (Dana);
daughter Jill (Gary); and granddaughters
Kaylyn (Daniel), Elizabeth (Eric),
Lindsey, Leslie and Melody. He was
preceded in death by his first wife,
Betty Allen; and sisters Ann Moon,
Maxine Christian and Shirley Coincon.

made to the Christ Episcopal Church Food
Pantry, 8951 Courthouse Rd,
Spotsylvania, Virginia 22553.
A private service will be held at Christ
Episcopal Church, Spotsylvania. A
memorial service will be held at a later
date.
