Telling Tales Outside of Class

Snake in the Box
or
Seniors Mature Reluctantly

Can't remember who all was involved but it was 1962.

The seniors basically had most of the day off because of SCAT test I believe.  We were in the senior court passing time until the senior assembly.  Some of the guys found a little (harmless) snake.  Well, they decided to put it in a crush proof cigarette box so they could let it go during assembly.

Our speaker's subject that day was how seniors need to  prepare to go out into the adult world of college or into the work force -- we were becoming adults.

The guys with the snake passed it around with a sign on the cigarette box "DO NOT OPEN, SNAKE INSIDE" hoping someone would open it.  No one opened it.  When it got back to the guys (they were directly behind me) they decided to they
wanted to let it go.  Believe me, for the rest of the assembly several of us sat on our feet.

So much for being adults and ready for the real world----it was fun.  Being adult isn't nearly as much fun.
