In Memoriam

David Granskyi

A Lancer out of sight
Never out of mind

It is with great regret that we must inform all of R.E. Lee High School alumni and the class of 1973of the death of David Ganski

David Granski, of Virginia Beach, an avid swimmer, kayaker and scuba diver, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017.

He was 62. He was born in Parris Island, S.C. on Oct. 8, 1955 and spent most of his adult life in northern Virginia, where he worked for Giant Food. He retired in 2007 after 35 years with the company.

After his retirement, he followed his travel dreams, visiting Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and Israel, among others. Most recently, he and his daughter, Alix Granski, traveled to Singapore and Cambodia.

Another passion was scuba diving. He became a designated dive master before he was 20.

In addition to his daughter, he is survived by his mother, Beverly Granski and brother, Steve Granski, both of The Villages, Fla.; his wife, Lisa Callison; and his beloved lab-mix, Toby. Those who wish to honor his life are asked to donate to LonelyWhale.org or OceanConservancy.org.
