In Memoriam

David Michael Grimm '61

A Lancer out of sight
Never out of mind

Capt. David Michael Grimm,
U.S. Air Force

31 March 1943 – 17 December 1973

Perished over Alaska

Dave served in Korea during the U.S.S. Pueblo crisis in 1968, followed by a one-year tour of combat duty in Vietnam.  Later, while piloting an F-4E Phantom Jet on December 17, 1973, his plane went down near Anchorage, Alaska, where he was stationed.  Searchers were unable to locate his remains or the plane.  Dave was 30.  He is survived by his wife, Dana Tierney Grimm, also a member of the Class of ’61, and four children.  Dave is memorialized at Arlington National Cemetery.
