Jimmy, aka DJ, began his
Vietnam
tour in June of 1968.
However,
just eight months later on February 27, 1969, his platoon was ambushed
in
Quang Nam Province,
South Vietnam.
According to a family member, James B.
Bonham, III, who was also serving in
Vietnam
at the time, Jimmy was hit heavily by AK-47 gunfire and succumbed to his
wounds on March 9, 1969.
He was 24.
He rests at
Arlington
National
Cemetery.
