PATRICIA DAILE CONNORS LUCKS

RN, BSN, WOCN

DECEMBER 9, 1953-JULY 7, 2007

Wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter, PATTIE LUCKS, who loved to call herself, "PattieDLucks", died on July 7, 2007.

She was born 53 years ago in Greenwich, CT, moved to Springfield, VA in 1965 and graduated from Robert E Lee High School in 1973. She met her soulmate Mike Lucks while in high school, married him in 1976 and moved to Dale City. She became a stay at home Mom after the birth of her three sons, Alan, Chris and Ryan. While "staying at home" she managed to become proficient in furniture restoration and cub scout leading. When her children graduated from high school, she pursued her dream of becoming a nurse. She graduated from NOVA in 1997 with her RN and from George Mason in 2003 with her BSN. She attended University to obtain her WOCN degree so she could specialize in wound care nursing. She was employed at Lighthouse Home Health, Mt. Vernon Wound Healing Center and Potomac Hospital. She also had her own consulting company - Care de Lucks.

She and Mike loved to travel. Especially cruising with friends and family. They visited Thailand, Hawaii, and Alaska. Their most recent adventure found them sailing in the British Virgin Islands.

Pattie will be remembered for her off key singing, off beat sense of humor, yardsale and thrift store prowess, creative cooking and beverage concoction skills, positive outlook, giving spirit and enormous love for her family and friends.

She is survived by her best friend and husband, Mike; son Alan, and his daughter, Sierra, son, Christopher and his girlfriend, Amy, son, Ryan and his wife, Lacy and her loving mother-in-law, Georgianna Lucks and the rest of the Lucks clan. Her mother, Mary Anne Denaci and stepfather, Tom Richards; brother, John Connors; sister, Judy Connelly and husband, Dave and their three children, Nick, Maggie and Grace, brother, Kevin Connors and wife, Jane and their two children, Dale and Amelia and Dale's wife, Ellen, and brother, Edward Denaci and his wife, Karin and their two children, Erika and Daniel.

The Lucks family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Potomac Hospital for the excellent care given to Pattie.

There is a memorial service at MOUNTCASTLE FUNERAL HOME in Dale City, VA on Saturday July 14 at 3 p.m. Keep in mind that this is a celebration of Pattie's colorful life - so- no black please.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a charitable donation be made to the MDS Foundation (Myelodysplastic Syndromes)
