In addition, seven Lee High School students have qualified for the national championship competition to be held in Long Beach, California, July 7-12, 2000.
They now face their next challenge--funding the trip to the national

total remaining cost of the trip is $11,944. They have received commitments for
$7,500 of this amount with a balance needed of $4,444. LAFA donated $500 on May 22,
which, at that time, was about 10 percent of the remaining need. The deadline is June 10th
with any donations qualifying as a tax deductible contribution.
