on October 10-12, 2008

 

 

PREPARATION BEGINS NOW. . .

There are plenty of opportunities to contribute to the festivities and LAFA NEEDS YOUR HELP.  The structure of specific weekend activities (see below) is pretty loose at this point.  Committees are forming now under the LAFA umbrella to: determine the price of the weekend; mail invitations; coordinate activities with the school; organize sponsors; arrange the picnic; plan decadal gatherings; organize the memorial service; determine the program; and decorate the Waterford – to name a few.  No contribution is too small and no offer to help will be turned down.

List of Lee Alumni Association weekend events:  Most events are in the planning stage as of early June.  Times may change events maybe modified or new ones added.  Please check www.Lee-High-Alumni.org from time to time for updates.  More importantly, please come forward, get involved and contribute to the fun. 

 

Friday – October 10, 2008

• Football game – Lee versus Annandale at Annandale
• Informal gathering at Houlihans Restaurant and Bar in the Springfield Hilton.
• LAFA is trying to coordinate an all-classes mixer.  If LAFA can locate a facility that meets our criteria, large capacity and free, there will be an announcement about when and where on the LAFA website.

 

Saturday – October 11, 2008

• Picnic

12 p.m. until 3 p.m.

Behind the school – cafeteria if it rains

Classic picnic food on paper plates.  Family fun and games

 

• School Tours and open gym

12 p.m. until 3 p.m.

Meet at the front entrance

Lee HS has been extensively renovated, once in the early eighties and most recently in the late nineties.

Locations – various

* Saturday evening parties are optional events and have a fee that is additional to the cost for the multiple weekend events. LAFA needs support and help getting Saturday evening parties organized by decades.  There is plenty of opportunity for event planers to craft your special party.  The more classmates that participate the bigger the budget!

 

60s – JAXX Rock ‘N Roll Roadhouse in West Springfield .  Loud music, dance floor and three big bars.

 

70s and 80s – Marriot Fairview Park , Falls Church .  More disco, less Rock ‘N Roll.

 

90s and 00s – Wide open for suggestions

 

Sunday – October 12, 2008

• Memorial Service for fallen Lancers.

2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Dress for church

Springfield church to be determined

7 p.m. until 12 a.m.
