Robert E. Lee High School's Future Business Leaders of America chapter won First Place Overall at the State Leadership Conference held in Reston, VA, April 28-30. In the competition in Reston which included over 250 schools in Virginia, the Lee FBLA chapter was awarded: MOST OUTSTANDING HONOR CHAPTER In addition, seven Lee High School students have qualified for the national championship competition to be held in Long Beach, California, July 7-12, 2000. They now face their next challenge--funding the trip to the national
finals in Long Beach. The deadlines for the funds are rapidly approaching. The
total remaining cost of the trip is $11,944. They have received commitments for
$7,500 of this amount with a balance needed of $4,444. LAFA donated $500 on May 22,
which, at that time, was about 10 percent of the remaining need. The deadline is June 10th
with any donations qualifying as a tax deductible contribution. Due to the short timeframe remaining for mailing donations, the webmaster Jack Duckworth '64 has offered the services of his corporation Expert Systems Programs and Consulting, Inc. to process credit card donations from a secure WebPage on this site.
